A FATHER DISCIPLINES HIS OWN SON UNTO GLORY
"If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?" (Hebrews 12:7 KJV)
The word of God says, if we endure chastening or discipline, God deals with us as with sons, for what son is he whom the father does not discipline. Hallelujah!
Thus, one of the things that marks out the relationship of a good father with his son is discipline. That is, a good father is the one that is able to discipline his son. And son in this scripture refers to both male and female heirs of the kingdom of God. Hallelujah!
So the word of God says that one of the ways that God as our Heavenly Father deals with us, as sons is through discipline. And that is how the spiritual father that he has appointed for us to represent Him in our lives is also supposed to deal with us. Because discipline is one of the ways every good father deals with his son. Hallelujah!
Now we must know that the main reason why a father disciplines his son is not just to inflict some pain on the son, but to bring him on track if he errs, so that the son can grow more into the likeness of the father to be able to represent him in every way and also bring him glory. But if the son is not disciplined to grow in the likeness of the father, he cannot be able to represent the father in any way, neither can he also bring glory unto the father.
This explains why God the father disciplined his son our Lord Jesus Christ (Isaiah 53), because of the sins of the world that were laid upon him, and by that process the son was exalted unto the authority of the father and both the father and the son were glorified together. Hallelujah.
So a father disciplines his own son for the son to grow into his likeness, so that the son can fully represent him and also bring him glory. Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!
Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the understanding that you have given me concerning the role of the father in disciplining the son. I declare that I yield unto the discipline of my father and I'm glorified together with him in Jesus name. Amen!
