THE ACTUAL MEANING OF GRACE

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" (Ephesians 2:8, KJV)

The word of God teaches us that we are saved by grace through faith. Thus, our salvation and every blessing that pertains to it is hinged on the grace of God. But one may ask, what is grace?

Grace has been popularly defined as unmerited favour. That is favour that we never worked for or deserved, which is very true. But the actual meaning of the Greek word translated into grace "Charis" gives us a far more deeper meaning which is the influence of God in our hearts and its reflection in our lives. Hallelujah! Thus, grace is God actually working or operating in our spirits and the expression of such workings or operations of God in every area of our lives. I have always emphasized that the definition of grace as unmerited favour only shows us how we received the actual substance of grace, which was solely by God through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, but this definition does not really describe what the grace itself is, which is God working or operating in our spirit and expressing Himself in every area of our lives. Hallelujah! So grace is actually the working, operation, or influence of God in our spirit and its expression in our life. Glory to God!

Hallelujah! Prayer/Confession

Thank you Heavenly Father for giving me a deeper understanding of grace, which is your influence in my heart and its reflection in my life. I declare that I am filled with Your Superabundant grace and I excel in every area of my life in Jesus name.

Amen!
