A FATHER MAKES A SON TO BECOME
A FATHER MAKES A SON TO BECOME LIKE HIMSELF AND EVEN BETTER
"For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church." (1 Corinthians 4:17 KJV)
After Apostle Paul had declared unto the Corinthian Church that he is their father and that they should follow him as his sons, he added that for this reason, he sent Timothy who was his beloved son and faithful in the Lord to teach them his ways in Christ and this was what Apostle Paul himself too was teaching everywhere.
Now we see from this scripture that while sons are to follow their father, the father also is to make sure that he trains the sons to follow him.
Thus, we see in this scripture that Apostle Paul intentionally sent Timothy, whom he had trained as a son and who had understood the sonship relationship with the father and had been faithful with the same to Corinth to teach the Corinthian church how to operate like their father Paul, by following after his ways.
Why did Apostle Paul send Timothy to Corinth and did not just allow them to just follow him? Simply because, while sons are to follow the father, the father is also to ensure that he actually makes the sons follow him by emulating his ways.
And this was why our Lord Jesus told the disciples to follow him and He will make them (Matthew 4:19). Thus, it is not just about the sons following, but the father is to ensure that he also makes the sons to become like him in every way and even better, just as our Lord Jesus Christ said that his followers will do greater works than what he did (John 14:12). Glory to God! Hallelujah!
Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the opportunity to be made by my father. I declare that I yield fully unto the training of my father and Christ Jesus is glorified in every area of my life in Jesus name. Amen!
