ATTITUDES THAT GRIEVE THE ...

ATTITUDES THAT GRIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT

"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and ange, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice" (Ephesians 4:31)

We see from the Scriptures that after Apostle Paul declared that we should not grieve the Spirit in Ephesian 4:30, he immediately followed it up with some of the attitudes that we demonstrates that greive the Spirit.

He declare that we should put away or get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, slander, along with every form of Malice.

These attitudes affect our spirit and hence our intimacy with the Holy Spirit of God. Now know that these are not just exhaustive, but there are several other attitudes that really wound our relationship with the Holy Spirit. And this is why the Apostle added that "along with every form of malice". Malice simply means wickedness or intentional sins or offence. That is knowing something is not good or approved by God and yet you force yourself to do it. Paul says all these things whether they were mentioned by him or not grieve the Holy Spirit.

Thus, any wicked attitude that we demonstrate against anybody at all grief the Holy Spirit in us. And this is why we are to guard our hearts against these attitudes so that we can continuously have that rich and glorious fellowship with the precious Holy Spirit of God  in Jesus's name. Amen

Prayer/Confession

Heavenly Father, I thank You for reminding me of the attitudes that grieve Your Spirit within me. I declare that by Your grace I have gottenrid of all those attitudes in Jesus name. Amen!
