BEING ESTABLISHED UPON THE TRU
BEING ESTABLISHED UPON THE TRUTH
"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4. Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:3-4 KJV)
Yesterday we saw that the cooperate will of God for all humanity is salvation. But from that same scripture, we see that this will does not merely end with salvation, but the saved being established upon the truth of God's word. Hallelujah!
Thus, after receiving salvation, one must strive to grow in the knowledge of God's word. God does not want people to remain as spiritual babies after they receive salvation, but they must grow and be established upon the truth of God's word.
And this is why missions usually has two dimensions preaching or teaching to lead the people to Christ, which is salvation and teaching them again to grow into matured responsible Christians. Hallelujah!
And our Lord Jesus Christ actually stressed these two dimensions of mission in the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20. There He indicated that we should first of all go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. This teaching was to bring the people into the family of God, which is their salvation. And He also emphasized the second dimension: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I gave commanded you, which is their establishment upon the truth to become mature responsible Christians. Hallelujah!
Thus, the actual will of God for all humanity is for us all to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. And this is the mandate He has given unto the Church, which we must all fulfill to the glory of God in Jesus name. Amen!

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the insight that You have given me today, concerning the salvation of men and their establishment upon the truth. I declare that I do not only lead men unto salvation, but i also teach them to be established upon the truth of your word in Jesus name. Amen!
