CONTEND FOR THE SOULS OF MEN

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12 KJV)

We've learnt that the church is the army of God and that every Christian is a soldier. And as soldiers we are called to do battle for the one that appointed us as soldiers, that is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Whereas we've looked at how to engage in spiritual warfare as it pertains to us on the personal level as our fight of faith, another battle that the Lord has appointed for everyone of us as soldiers in His kingdom is to contend for the souls of men or the lost.

Thus, as Christians we are all soldiers on a rescue mission. We have been sent on the mission of rescuing or winning souls from the kingdom of darkness and bringing into the kingdom of light.

And whiles one aspect of this work is done in our preaching of the gospel of Christ, a greater part of this is done in the realm of the Spirit through prayer, where we wrestle not just against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and wicked spirits in Heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12); who hold men in bandage of sin and blinds them from beholding the glorious gospel of Christ (2 Corinthians 4:3)

Thus, for us to win or save these souls through our physical evangelism, we ought to first of all wrestle with these wicked spirits to free the souls from every bondages of sin, so that every form of blindness upon their hearts will be removed; for the glorious gospel we preach to fall upon their hearts. And this is what we do in our
heartfelt continuous prayers for these souls in Jesus name. (James 5:16 AMP). Amen!

Prayer/Declaration Heavenly Father I thank You for the mission You have given me of rescuing men from the bondages of sin and darkness. I declare that every influence of sin, depravity and wickedness upon any man is broken by the power of the Holy Ghost; and as many as You have appointed for salvation receive eternal life into their spirit and they are born again and added unto Your Church in Jesus name. Amen!
