DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR GIFT

"Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery." (1 Timothy 4:14 KJV) As part of Apostle Paul's counsel unto his son Timothy, he declared to him that he should not neglect the gift of God in him, which was given to him by prophecy, by the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

Why will Apostle Paul give such a counsel to his son Timothy? Simply because there is always that tendency to neglect the gift of God in us.

And what does it mean to neglect your gift? That is not nurturing or developing it to grow and not putting it to work.

Thus, one of the things you should always ask yourself is what can I do to ensure that the gift of God in me is growing. How can I ensure that my operation in that gift is increasingly becoming effective as the days go by.

For instance you are a music minister, what can you do to ensure that you minister more powerfully? What can you do to ensure that your  voice is becoming richer and richer by the day. You seek knowledge that pertains unto your gift, understand them and put them to work. And you also constantly track your progress. Are you becoming better in your operation of that gift. And how can you still improve upon it. By giving this diligence to your gift, you will see yourself growing more and more in that gift and creating greater impact in the world through the operation of that gift to the Glory of God. Hallelujah!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the wisdom You've given me to be diligent with my gift. I declare that I neglect not the gift which you have given me, but I nurture them and effectively make use of them for Your glory in Jesus name. Amen!
