"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." (John 1:12 KJV)

The third Greek word translated into the strength or power of the Holy Spirit in the believer is "exousia." This is the word translated into power in John 1:12 in the King James version of the Holy Bible.

Exousia means authority or right, and this is how most of the modern translations have translated it in the English Bible.

Biblically speaking, it refers to the right that God has given us as His sons in Christ Jesus. That is, the authority that our Lord Jesus Christ has given us in His name. The power of attorney that we have in His name, by which we function on this earth as His representatives. Hallelujah!

As children of God we have been given authority or exousia over the devil and all his works. But this is one thing that a lot of Christians either don't know, are ignorant of, or are not conscious of.

This authority actually operates by the power of our words. And this was why our Lord Jesus Christ said that whatever we bind of earth shall be bound in Heaven and whatever we loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven (Matthew 16:19). In order words we have endorsement in Heaven.

Whatever thing we do on this earth is endorsed in Heaven because of the authority that has been given unto us to represent our Lord Jesus Christ, to rule or judge over this earth realm.

So from today be conscious of the authority that God has given you in Christ Jesus and function fully in the same to the Glory of God the Father in Jesus name. Amen!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the authority that You have given me in Christ Jesus my Lord. I declare that I function fully in my consciousness of this authority and do great and mighty exploits in Jesus name. Amen!
