FATHERS TRAVAIL AGAIN IN BIRTH
"My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you" (Galatians 4:19 KJV)
Yesterday we saw that the hallmark of true fatherhood is not merely giving birth but raising a son.
A person may give birth but if that person does not raise that child that he gave birth to into sonship, the one that gave birth does not qualify to be a father.
The significance of this is seen in the fact that when even God came in the form of a man in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, He was given Joseph as His father to raise Him as a Son. And the word of God says, He was subject unto Him. Glory to God!
Thus, the actual work of a father is not demonstrated through giving birth but raising the one that was given birth to into sonship or maturity.
This is why in our devotional text, Apostle Paul declared unto the Galatian Church that, as his little children he travails in birth again until Christ is formed richly in them. Hallelujah!
Thus, after giving birth to them through the born again experience, because he understood that the fatherhood work does not end with the initial giving of birth, he declared that he was still travailing for them, or giving birth to them again or acting as their father again by the trainings or nurturing that he was giving them. And as their father his focus was to see Christ formed richly in them. Thus he wanted to see them come unto full maturity or sonship in Christ. Hallelujah!
Thus, apostle Paul did not limit his fatherly work with mere giving birth but actually raising the children unto full maturity. And this is because he understood that the hallmark of true fatherhood is raising sons and not merely giving birth unto children, but travailing or labouring for their maturity. Glory to God! Hallelujah!
Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the opportunity to be nurtured by my father. I declare that Christ is fully formed in me through the travail of my father in Jesus name. Amen!
