‭“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work." (John 4:34 NIV)

Yesterday, we saw that our Lord Jesus Christ declared that His food was to do the will of the one who sent Him, who is God the Father and to finish His work. And we further saw that this will of God the Father which our Lord Jesus Christ spoke of is soul winning.

Now we see in this same scripture that our Lord Jesus Christ did not just say His food was to do just the will of the Father. But He added, and to finish His work. Hallelujah!

Thus, Jesus's passion was not merely to be doing something for the father. But He actually wanted to finish every work that the Father appointed for Him. His mind was set on finishing that work. Hallelujah!

And I personally believe that, this was the reason why in the space of only three years, He finished every work that was appointed to Him according to the earthly destiny that the Father appointed for Him. Hallelujah!

And to me finishing the work is very essential, in the sense that God does not just want us to be about His will or work, but He wants us to finish it.

It is one thing to be doing something and another thing finishing that which you are supposed to do.

Take for instance, you begin preaching to a soul, but you are not able to continue preaching to him until he accepts salvation. What impact have you created in the kingdom? You were about the will, but never got the job done or finished the work. So in this case how does the Kingdom of God benefit from the work that you begun, but did not really finish? And if the Kingdom does not profit from Your labour why should You be paid?

This is the situation that some christians find themselves in. Always busy about something but never finishing that which God has appointed for them.

So let it be your passion from today, not only to be about the Father's business. But ensure you actually finish every work that He has appointed for you according to the divine destiny He has given you in Jesus name. Amen!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for enlightening my heart today with the necessity of finishing every work that You have appointed for me. I declare that I'm filled with all grace to perfectly finish every work that You have appointed for me, according to the divine destiny You have given me in Christ Jesus my Lord. Amen!
