For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth." (Hebrews 12:6 KJV)

Hebrews 12 apart from the sufferings of Christ also gives us in depth knowledge about the relationship of a father and His son, drawing mainly from the relationship between God the Father and His first begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ.

After the word declared that God was the one that appointed that cross or suffering for our Lord Jesus Christ, the word further notes that, God the Father did this to the son as a way of demonstrating His love unto Him and that is how he deals with all His sons.

Thus, in our devotional text, the word of God says, "For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth." To chastise from its Greek word "paideuo" means to discipline, teach, educate, instruct or train up a child. 

Thus, the word of God says it is the son that the father loves that He disciplines and sometimes part of the discipline is allowing him to go through painful experience just to help him build capacity. Hallelujah!

So one may ask, why do God allow His children to go through challenges or endure some cross. The simple answer is to build capacity in them. The challenges are one of the things that builds you up. And the Father in His immense love tailors the challenge or cross to fit everyone of His children. And by so doing we grow stronger and stronger in Him. Hallelujah!

So instead of asking why you are going through a lot of challenges, rather thank the Father for loving you more, and giving you more disciplines. Hallelujah!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father I thank You for teaching me Your love today, which is through the chastisement that I go through. I declare that I'm filled with all grace to embrace every chastisement that You take me through, and I strongly grow thereby in Jesus name. Amen!
