GRIEVE NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT

"And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." (Ephesians 4:30 KJV)

We've seen that the Holy Spirit is our seal as children of God, and its Him that authenticates our sonship with God the Father. And in our devotional text for today, Apostle Paul counsels us that we should not grieve the Holy Spirit of God by who we have been sealed unto the day of Redemption. Hallelujah!

Grieving the Holy Spirit simply means making Him sad. And so the Apostle says we should not make the Holy Spirit sad in our lives. But can we make the Holy Spirit sad? Yes of course!  If yes, how? By walking in constant disobedience to the word of God.

Anytime that we disobey the word of God, or do not do that which God instructs us to do, we grieve or sadden the Holy Spirit and this affects our intimacy with Him and His subsequent operations through us.

This sadness or grief of the Holy Spirit is the sadness that we sometimes feel within ourselves when we err in our walk with God. But don't allow the devil to drag you with it through a sense of self condemnation, neither should you just sear your conscience with hot iron so that you dont even sense that you are grieving the Holy Spirit.

So from today make up your mind to always make the Holy Spirit joyous always in your life and enjoy greater dimensions of His operations in you in Jesus name. Amen!

Prayer/Declaration

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit within me. I declare that I'm filled with all grace not to grieve the Spirit in all my walk with Him in Jesus name. Amen!
