GROANINGS WHICH CANNOT BE UTTERED

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." (Roman's 8:26 KJV)

We've seen that the Holy Spirit is our helper and one of the areas He helps us is in our prayer life.

The word of God further teaches us that in our prayers the Holy Spirit shows us what we should pray for and how we ought to pray that prayer. And He does this with groaning which cannot be uttered. Hallelujah!

What does the word of God mean by groaning which cannot be uttered. Groanings are deep sighs or that low guttural sound that is made out of paid or ecstacy. Thus, as you continue in prayer you get to that state of ecstacy where you are so overwhelmed with the Holy Spirit that you are not even able to articulate your own words.

At that level the Holy Spirit takes over your prayers and begins to pray through you. This is the level that you get to in your prayers that the Holy Spirit puts aside your own will and begin to present the will of the Father concerning you unto the Father on your behalf.

Thus the level of groaning in our prayers is a level that the Holy Spirit prays through us according to the will of God for us and this is why the word of God says with these groanings the Holy Spirit helps us concerning what we are supposed to be praying for and how we are supposed to pray those prayers and these two summarize the will of God in the area of our prayer life. Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your gift of the Holy Spirit who helps me in my prayer life. I declare that the Holy Spirit prays through me with groanings which cannot be uttered and I consistently pray according to the perfect will of God for my life in Jesus name. Amen!
