"And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen." (Genesis 22:14 KJV)

Genesis 22 narrates the account of Papa Abraham's temptation. In this account God instructed him to go unto mount Moriah to go and sacrifice his son Isaac in a burnt offering for Him.

Papa Abraham believed and he and his son and servants took this journey which was three days unto mount Moriah.

And the word of God says, when they got there Papa Abraham erected the altar, and arranged the woods on it and after that bound his son Isaac's hands and feet and laid him on the altar ready to sacrifice him. But then the Angel of the Lord called unto Papa Abraham and told him that a ram had been caught by its horn in a bush beside him, he should rather take that ram and use it for the burnt offering. And Papa Abraham did so and after the offering called the name of the place 'Jehovah-Jireh' implying that on the mount of the Lord it shall be seen. Glory to God! Hallelujah!

The meaning of Jehovah-Jireh communicates two essential things to us. The first is that it's on the mount of the Lord that we receive visions from him. In other words for us to flow in the operations of the Holy Spirit through the sense of sight we must constantly engage the Lord's presence, which metaphorically is referred to as the mount of the Lord. The second is that once the Lord reveals He also gives us the power to possess, just as Papa Abraham saw the ram and possessed it and use it for the burnt offering instead of His son Isaac.

So as you engage the presence of the Lord the Lord will show you things and as He shows you things just know also that He has already given you the ability to accomplish the same in Jesus name. Amen!

Heavenly Father, I thank You for being my Jehovah-Jireh. I declare that as my Jehovah-Jireh You have provided every righteous desire of mine through the power of sight in Jesus name. Amen!
