LABOUR WITH GRACE
"But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." (1Corinthians 15:10)
Some folks have understood grace to be staying idle and expecting God to do everything for them. But that is a great misconception of what grace is.
People who understand grace in this light only see the free aspect of grace and not the reality that its God's ability at work in us.
In explaining this reality, Apostle Paul declared that by the grace of God, he was who he was and the grace of God which was bestowed upon him was not in vain, but he laboured more abundantly than all the other Apostles, nevertheless it was not his own ability but the grace of God which was at work in him.
Thus, we see from Apostle Paul that we don't just stay idle and expect things to happen for us in this dispensation of superabundance of grace, but we rather labour with this grace to see Superabundant manifestations of the operations of God. Thus, without labour, we cannot see results with grace, and by our labour we align our lives with the work that God is doing in our spirit and we receive the effect of such work in our physical lives.
For instance in our accademics God works in us to excel, but we also labour in our studies to see the manifestation of the excellent work that God is doing in our spirit. And without our studies, that work will never be manifested.
Nevertheless, our labour is not by our own strength or ability, but by the enabling power of God's Spirit who works mightily in and through us. And this was why Apostle Paul concluded that yet not him, but the grace of God which was with him that enabled him to labour more abundantly. Glory to God! Hallelujah!
