LEARN TO DEPEND ON THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR COUNSEL

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." (John 14:16-17 KJV)

We saw yesterday from our devotional text that the Holy Spirit is our Counsellor and He counsels us just as our Lord Jesus Christ counseled the people of His earthly days with signs and wonders.

But many Christians today do not really depend on the Holy Spirit for counsel. And even those who depend on Him usually consult Him as their last option after they have explored other options to no avail.

Some people depend on their friends for counsel, others on their colleagues, still others on people who they see to be more experienced in life and still others on their own experiences.

Whilst all these options may help to some extent, the best counselor that the Lord has given to the Church is the Holy Spirit, who takes of that which belongs to the Lord Jesus and reveal them to us; and also has the capacity to show us all things even things to come.

So from today make the Holy Spirit your main source of counselling and train your Spirit to heed unto His godly counsels and be disciplined enough to follow after the same in Jesus name. Amen!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the Holy Spirit whom You have given me as my counsellor. I declare that I heed to the counsel of the Spirit and I'm disciplined to follow after the same in Jesus name. Amen!
