"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16 KJV)

The word of God says, we let our light so shine that men may see our good works and glory our Father which is in heaven.

From this scripture we see that the reason why we are supposed to shine is not just for our mere enjoyment, or favour or anything about us, but for the Glory of God. And we've seen that we shine by putting the gifts of God in us to work. Hallelujah!

Thus, the main purpose for who we are and every ability, gift or talent that the Lord has given us is for the Glory of God our Heavenly Father.

In actual sense the main purpose of every creature of God is to glorify God. The word of God says, God made all things for His own Glory (Revelation 4:11). And that includes your life and everything that pertains to you.

But the design of God for our glorifying Him is such that by that same process or work of glorifying Him, we also reap some benefits from Him, so our glorification of God will also be enjoyable unto us. This is the reason for the things we also enjoy for serving Him, but these benefits that we receive are not the ultimate, but only part of the process that leads us to the main ultimate of this life, which is the Glory of God in Jesus name. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for revealing to me the main purpose of my life and every ability You have endowed me with, which is for your glory. I declare that You are highly glorified in my life in Jesus name. Amen!
