NOT JUST UPON US BUT WITHIN US

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." (John 14:16-17 KJV)

Another significant knowledge we glean from our Lord Jesus's discourse with His disciples concerning the Holy Spirit, is the reality that He comes to live within us and not just upon us.

This is very important because it forms the basic difference between the operation of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament and His operation in the New Testament.

In the Old Testament the Holy Spirit only came upon them and used them to fulfil the purpose of God. He could not live within them because of their nature of sin. But in the New Testament, because our Lord Jesus Christ has dealt with the issue of sin for all those who come to him, the Holy Spirit can live within them and actually become one with their own spirit.

This was why our Lord Jesus Christ declared that the Spirit of Truth was with the disciples and He shall be in them. And this actually was what they experience on the day of Pentecost and from that day the Holy Spirit does not just come upon people, but He comes to live within them and fill them with the very ability of God so that they can do exploits in Jesus name. Amen!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the insight You continuously give to me concerning Your precious Holy Spirit. I declare that the Holy Spirit is living in me and He is doing mighty exploits through me in every part of my life in Jesus name. Amen!
