QUALIFICATION FOR RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; 17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." (John 14:16-17 KJV)

One essential thing that our Lord Jesus Christ revealed to us in His discourse with the disciples concerning the Holy Ghost was what qualifies a person to receive the Holy Spirit.

In this discourse He noted that the world or unbelievers cannot receive the Holy Ghost because they do not see Him, neither do they know Him, but the disciples know Him for He is with them in the person of Jesus Christ Himself and shall be in them as the Holy Spirit of God. Hallelujah!

From this scripture we see that the main qualification for a person to receive the Holy Spirit is the born again experience. Thus, before a person can receive the Holy Spirit, he must first of all be born again by putting his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This born again experience makes him the righteousness of God and Holy in sight of God, so that the Spirit of God is able to mingle with his spirit to become one.

This is the only qualification for receiving the Holy Spirit. So if you are already born again but have not yet received His fullness you can pray to be filled with Him, but if you are not yet born again, just receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and after that you can invite the Holy Spirit to come and fill you fully. Heavenly Father I thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I declare that I'm full of the Holy Spirit and do mighty exploits in Jesus name. Amen!
