SONS MINISTER UNTO THEIR FATHE

SONS MINISTER UNTO THEIR FATHER

"And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him." (1 Kings 19:21 KJV)

The above scripture talks about the call of Elisha. When God told Elijah to go and anoint Elisha, the word of God says that, Elijah went and cast his mantle upon him as a sign for him to follow him. And Elisha told him that he should allow him to go and bid farewell unto his father and his family and after that Elisha came back unto Elijah and ministered unto him. Hallelujah!

We know from the scripture that after Elisha left his natural father and family and came unto Elijah, He became Elijah's son. And the word of God says that Elisha as a son, ministered unto Elijah his father. Hallelujah!

Thus, another responsibility that sons offer unto their father is to minister to them. To minister means to serve or wait upon, especially doing menial jobs for another person. Hallelujah!

So sons are to serve, wait upon or do menial jobs like cleaning, washing, mopping, etc for their father. And this is why Elisha was also known for pouring water upon the hands of Elijah (2 Kings 3:11).

All these were done by Elisha for his father Elijah as a way of serving or ministering unto him. And it was this service that made him to have the double portion or right of the first born of Elijah's anointing. Hallelujah! Glory to God!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the insight that You have given me to minister unto my father. I declare that I minister unto my father indeed and I'm highly honoured by doing so in Jesus name. Amen!
