"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6 KJV)

We've learnt in previous devotions that the reason why fathers chastise their sons is because sons are being watched and whatever character that they put forth presents their father and the entire family in a particular light unto others. And this is also the reason why they are to obey their father's instruction. Hallelujah!

Thus, one key responsibility of sons is to preserve the integrity of their father and their entire family. Hallelujah!

Just as your father is a man of integrity, you must also endeavour to be a person of integrity just like your own father.

Without seeing your father, when people see you, your own character must speak of who your father is.

This is one reason why fathers take time to train their sons when they are with them, so that while they are away from them, they can still keep or preserve the good name or integrity of their father and as a matter of fact their entire family. Hallelujah!

This is why the word of God says that a father is to train up his child, so that when he grows as a son, he will not depart from it. Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the understanding that You have given me today. I declare that as a son I'm filled with all grace to preserve the integrity of my father and my entire family in Jesus name. Amen!
