STUDY TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED AS A MASTER SOUL WINNER

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." (2 Timothy 4:2 KJV

Yesterday we saw that two things are very essential in our preaching of the gospel to win souls. And the first of these two things is our patience, longsuffering, endurance or fortitude in our soul winning endeavour.

The second of these two things is doctrine or our knowledge or understanding of the word of God and our ability to preach or teach it.

Whereas any Christian can preach the word and win souls, the level of our effectiveness in preaching and soul winning is highly dependent on our knowledge or understanding of the word of God, and how we can express the same to the souls that we endeavor to win.

This is why the word of God says in our devotional text for today that in our preaching of the word of God, we are to reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. Hallelujah!

And for this same reason also, the word of God instructs us to study to show ourselves approved unto God; we are to preach and teach the souls as workmen who cannot be ashamed, even as we rightly divide the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). Hallelujah!

So as a soul winner, you are a workman for the Lord. And the word of God says, for you to effectively carry out your work of soul winning, you are to study the word. In other words, be acquainted with the knowledge of God's word so that you can effectively preach and teach it unto the souls that you are winning.

And this your knowledge of the word of God will make you a master Soul winner for the Lord. Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Prayer/Declaration

Heavenly Father, I thank You for reminding me of the importance of my knowledge of Your word as an effective soul winner. I declare that I study to show myself approved for Your work and I'm effective in my soul winning endeavour in Jesus name. Amen!
