SUPERABUNDANCE OF GRACE
"And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace." (John 1:16, KJV)
We've seen from the Scriptures that in the Old Testament, the grace of God existed in limited measure and that our Lord Jesus Christ came with "full grace" and it is with this full grace that He functioned with on this earth.
But we see from our devotional text that out of the fullness of Jesus Christ, we received not just full grace, but what John refers to as grace for grace, or grace upon grace.
Paul also speaking personally of this grace declares in 1 Timothy 1:14 that "...the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love..." unto him. The Greek word that Apostle Paul used in 1 Timothy 1:14 for "exceeding abundant" is 'hyperpleonazo' which actually means more than abundant, or excess of abundance, or beyond abundance, or superabundance. Glory to God!
Thus, Paul said the grace of God was in excess of abundance or more than abundant or excess of abundance unto him and by this he agreed with Apostle John's use of grace upon grace, or grace multiplied by grace, or grace over grace. And by all these they both mean superabundant grace or superabundance of grace. And this is the kind of grace that is made available unto the church. Thus this church dispensation is a dispensation of superabundance of Grace. Glory to God. Hallelujah!
Prayer/Confession
Heavenly Father I thank You for the outpouring of Your superabundant grace in this dispensation. I declare that I walk in Superabundance of grace in every area of my life in Jesus name. Amen!
