THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF ...

THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2 KJV)

The description that the author of Hebrews gives about our Lord Jesus Christ shows why He says we should look unto Him.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is described in this scriptural verse as the author and finisher of our faith. That is the beginning and end of our faith, the initiator and perfecter of our faith, the starting and completion of our faith. Hallelujah!

This implies that, our Lord Jesus Christ is everything about our faith, from the beginning to the very end. Hallelujah!

And the word of God says, we live by faith (Romans 1:17) and we also walk by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7). Thus, everything that we do as people or children of God we do them by faith. But the word says Jesus Christ is this our very faith. Hallelujah!

Thus, anything that we are pursuing or dealing with, it is by faith that we can pursue or deal with that thing. And This faith is our Lord Jesus Christ. Thus, it is by our Lord Jesus Christ, who is our faith that we can deal with or pursue anything that we are pursuing. And this is why the author says we should look away from every other thing unto Jesus, because He is the author and finisher of the faith which is required in accomplishing everything that we are pursuing. Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the faith that You have given me, which is Jesus Christ my Lord. I declare that I look unto Jesus Christ the author and finisher of my faith and I do mighty exploits in Jesus name. Amen!
