THE DIVINE PURPOSE OF YOUR W..
THE DIVINE PURPOSE OF YOUR WORK
"But Jesus answered them, "My Father is working until now, and I am working." (John 5:17) Have you ever asked yourself why you are working? Why you are engage in the work that you do? Why you are at your current place of work? I know that the answer that many will give is to make some money to take care of themselves, their family and any other person that depends on them. Whereas this answer is the obvious one that many people will give, making money is only a secondary or tertiary reason for our work.
And it is this misunderstanding of God's purpose for our work that makes people to complain at their work places, and deprive themselves of the grace that should make them work without sorrow at their work places.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said, His Father is working until now and He is also working (John 5:17). Hallelujah!
This is the divine purpose of our work. It is because it is the character of our Heavenly Father to work, and because He is working, we are also supposed to be working, as the vessels through which He expresses His gracious work unto humanity and all creation at large.
This is why Genesis 2:15 also declares that as part of God's creation ordinance, He took the man and placed him in the garden to dress it or beautify it and to keep. God did not give Adam that work to make money, because Adam already had everything in the garden. But God through his work wanted him to demonstrate His gracious work unto creation which is dressing and keeping the garden.
So the divine purpose of your work is not just to make money, but an opportunity for God to express His gracious work in and through you unto humanity and creation so that like your Heavenly Father, you also function as blessing unto humanity and all creation in Jesus name. Glory to God! Hallelujah!
Prayer/Confession "Heavenly Father, I thank You for revealing unto me the divine purpose of the work I do, which is to express Your gracious work un and through me. I declare that I fully yield to this gracious work of Yours in every work that I do in Jesus name. Amen!
