THE ETERNAL REWARD FOR ENDURING YOUR CROSS

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2 KJV)

We see from our devotional text that, after our Lord Jesus Christ endured His cross, even despising the shame that pertained unto that cross, He was finally set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The right hand of the throne of God talks about the highest authority in God. In other words, Jesus's endurance made Him to be exalted to the very authority of God.

This was the reward He received after enduring the cross and running the race that was set before Him. Hallelujah!

And this was also the joy that He foresaw that it was set before Him, which actually gave him the motivation and strength to endure the cross and despise the shame.

In like manner we should know that there is a reward for everything that we endure for the Lord and for the sake of His Kingdom and His Church. And this should be the main motivation for everything that we do for the Lord. The joy that is set before us which is our heavenly reward should be the basis for our soul wining, ministry, giving and any other sacrifice that we render for the sake of the Lord and His Kingdom and of course His Church.

And for this reason also, the word if God declares unto us to always be steadfast and abound in the work of the Lord, for we know that our labour in the Lord will never be in vain (1 Cor 15:58). Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Prayer/Declaration 
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the understanding You've given me concerning the eternal reward for enduring my cross. I declare that I'm constantly inspired by this eternal reward as I serve You whole heartedly and I do great and mighty exploits for Your Kingdom in Jesus name. Amen!
