THE GOOD WARFARE
"This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare" (1 Timothy 1:18 KJV)
Apostle Paul charged his son Timothy to wage a good warfare with the prophecies that were declared concerning him.
Note that most times when Apostle Paul talked about the fight or battle that a Christian is to engage in, he refers to it as the good fight or goid warfare (1 Timothy 1:18; 1 Timothy 6:12; 2 Timothy 4:7)
By the good fight or good warfare, the word of God simply implies a fight
Or warfare that is good for you. Why is it good for you? Because you have already been declared the victor or winner in that battle even before you got involved in it.
This is the battle which was fought on our behalf by our Lord Jesus Christ, in which he defeated all principalities and powers and made a public show of them, as He triumphed over victoriously them.
And the word of God makes us to understand that this battle was fought for us and the victory that our Lord Jesus Christ won was for us. And now our own battle is simply enforcing that victory that He won for us through our declarations or confessions of this victory that He won for us and by so doing we put the devil and all his allies under our feet and exercise our authority over them until the time of their final destruction in the lake of fire. Glory to God! Hallelujah!
Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the victory You won for me through Christ Jesus my Lord. I declare that I enforce this victory in every area of my life in Jesus name. Amen!
