THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR COUNSELLOR

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; 17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." (John 14:16-17 KJV)

One other meaning of Parakletos, the Greek word translated into Comforter in John 14:16 is counsellor. And this reveals another ministry that the Holy Spirit fulfils for the believer. Thus, the Holy Spirit is also our Counsellor. And He is a Counsellor of the same kind of Jesus Christ our Lord. Glory to God! Hallelujah!

The best way to see how the Holy Spirit fulfils this counselling ministry for us is by looking at how our Lord Jesus Christ gave counsel to the people that He ministered unto and the results that followed after those counsel.

The miraculous catch of fish by Peter and his friends in their first encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ based on the counsel that they received from Him is a typical example of this.

According to this account, Peter and his colleagues had toiled all night using all their experience in fishing but were not able to catch even one fish, but the one word of counsel or direction that our Lord Jesus Christ gave unto them to launch out into the deep made them to catch abundance of fish (Luke 5:1-7).

In like manner most times we try all that we can with all our experience to achieve things but to no avail. But the moment we choose to switch unto the counsel of the Lord by His Holy Spirit in us, we begin to see tremendous results in our lives. Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Holy Spirit in me who operates as my counsellor. I declare that I yield to the counselling ministry of the Holy Spirit in every area of my life in Jesus name. Amen!
