"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." (Romans 8:26 KJV)

The word of God says we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. Hallelujah!

Thus, one of the ministries that the Holy Spirit fulfils in the life of the believer is the work of intercession.

As our intercessor, the word of God says, the Holy Spirit helps us to know what we should pray for and how we ought to pray that prayer.

These are two key ways in which the Holy Spirit fulfils His intercessory ministry in us and for us. He shows us the most important things we should be praying about in our lives and how we are supposed to pray for those things.

This intercessory ministry of the Holy Spirit is very essential, because most christians don't really have the right knowledge of what they want or what they really need. For what may be a priority on our prayer list may be unimportant in the sight of God. But the Holy Spirit knows these things. So as we engage Him in our prayer life, He stirs the passion of these things which are heaven's priorities in us and also shows us how to pray for their full manifestation in our lives in Jesus name.
