THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." (Romans 8:2 KJV) Apostle Paul declared concerning our freedom from condemnation that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death. And we saw yesterday that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is the nature of righteousness that operates in our spirit.

Now what is the law of sin and death. Again from Paul's argument in Romans 7:18-25 he declared that he is declared righteous by his faith and this righteousness is in his spirit and thus gives him the willingness of doing that which is right, but he is not able to always do that which he wants to do, because there was another law which was operating in his members, body or flesh. It is this principle which was operating in his flesh that he referred to as the law of sin and death . Thus this law of sin and death happens to be the sin nature that still dwells in our flesh which sometimes seeks to influence us to sin.

To those who are not born again, this sin nature is both in their spirit and their body and so they are dead, in their spirits souls and body, but to the children of God, because the righteousness of Christ has been imputed unto our spirit, this law of sin and death operates in our body, and not in our spirit which has been completely redeemed by our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is the reason why the Apostle said that the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made him free from the law of sin and death. In other words the righteous nature of his spirit has delivered him from the condemnation that should have come upon him due to this law of sin and death, so that he is no more condemned. Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Prayer/Declaration

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus which operates mightily in me. I declare that this law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free indeed from the law of sin and death in Jesus name. Amen!
