THE PROFITABILITY OF GODLINESS
"For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." (1 Timothy 4:8 KJV)
Yesterday, we saw that as children of God, we are to exercise ourselves in godliness, which is the outward show of our inner Christian faith.
And we saw that this is not something that just happens by chance, but something that we consciously plan and engage ourselves in.
But the reason why many Christians seem to struggle with their godliness is because they have not known the importance or profitability of their godliness.
But the word of God says whiles bodily exercise has little profit, godliness which comprises of all our spiritual activities by which we show forth our Christian faith, which includes our prayers, fasting, Bible Studies, attending church services, giving, etc, has more profit both in the now and also in eternity. Hallelujah!
So whatever benefit we think we can get from our secular engagements, for which we sacrifice our spiritual engagements or godliness, we should know that our spiritual engagements or spirituality can give us far more profit than those physical engagements can ever give to us.
And the most glorious thing about our godliness is the fact that it profit us both in the now and in eternity. Glory to God! Hallelujah!
Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the profitability of godliness which I have in You. I declare that I exercise myself unto godliness indeed and I'm profitable in all my dealings both in the now and in eternity in Jesus name. Amen!
