THE SPIRIT OF MIGHT
"The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD." (Isaiah 11:2 KJV)
The fifth operational dimension of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament was the Spirit of might. In the Old Testament King David and His generals as well as all the judges of Israel operated with the Spirit of might. But Samson was actually the one that really demonstrated the works of the Spirit of might against the Philistines until his fall.
Might is from the Hebrew word 'geburaw' which also means victory, valor, force, power, strength, mastery, dominion. Actually several words both in the Hebrew and Greek have been translated generally into power, but each of these words have their own unique meanings that distinguish them from others. 'Geburaw' is one of such words in the Hebrew translated into power but its actual meaning is might.
But what is might? Might always refers to that force or ability that has already overcome. It's like two people are fighting, the one that wins in that battle becomes the mighty one over the other.
And the Holy Ghost is our Spirit of might. Thus by virtue of the indwelling Spirit of God in us, we simply overcome everything that confronts, opposes, or come against us. Glory to God! Hallelujah!
But the most glorious thing about our life is that, it's not now that we are trying to overcome. We have already been made overcomers in Christ Jesus and the Holy Ghost in us actually causes us to demonstrate this overcoming life in every area of our lives in Jesus name. Amen!
Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father I thank You for Your Spirit that operates in me as the Spirit of might. I declare that I am a mighty man or woman indeed and I exercise my dominion in every area of my life in Jesus name. Glory to God! Hallelujah!
