VISIONS AND DREAMS

"And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us." (Acts 16:9 KJV)

Another way that the Holy Spirit leads the children of God is through visions and dreams. But ignorance of the importance of visions and dreams have made many Christians to trivialize them to their own detriment.

The story of Acts 19: 6-10 gives us insight into the importance of visions and dreams as directions from the Holy Spirit.

The word of God says as part of his mission work, Apostle Paul wanted to go and preach with his emissaries in Asia, but the Holy Spirit prevented them from going there and when they came to Mysia, they wanted to go to Bithynia which was still part of Asia to go and preach and the Holy Spirit did not allow them. Then in the night Apostle Paul saw a vision of a man of Macedonia calling him to come to Macedonia to come and help them, and they were finally able to conclude that the Holy Spirit really did not want them to go to Asia but Macedonia of Greece to go and preach the gospel to them.

Now from that passage the word of God did not reveal the means that the Holy Spirit communicated to them at first, but it appears more to be by intuition. But because it was not very clear to them they were not certain about what to do until Apostle Paul had that dream which actually confirmed to them what the Holy Spirit wanted them to do.

So in our lives the Holy Spirit also direct us with visions and dreams but every vision and dream must also be subject to the written word of God for confirmation as a direction from the Holy Spirit indeed. Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the opportunity to be directed by Your Holy Spirit through visions and dreams. I declare that I fully yield to the directions of the Holy Spirit through the visions and dreams He gives me in Jesus name. Amen!
