WHO IS HE THAT OVERCOMES THE WORLD?

"Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God." (1 John 5:5 KJV)

After Apostle John declared that whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world and the victory that overcomes the world is our faith, He went further to stress this argument by asking the question who is he that overcomes the world? And gave the answer that it is he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God. Hallelujah!

What was the purpose of this particular question that Apostle John asked. Because he had already declared earlier on that he that is born of God overcomes the world. Why is he asking a question that he has already answered?

He really wanted to drive this argument deep within us. That is the reality that it is he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God that overcomes the world. For this further throws more light on what he had already said. The fact that the one born of God is an overcomer and it is his faith that actually makes him the overcomer and the fact that this faith is his believe in the reality that Jesus is the Son of God

The reason for this emphasis by Apostle John is that our faith is rooted in Christ and it is that faith in Christ that actually gives us mastery over all things and which consequently makes us overcomers of this world. Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Prayer/Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank You for making me an overcomer in Christ Jesus. I declare that I have overcome all things by my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
